Utilizing techniques of sound healing, mysticism and shamanism as the basis for pop style songs or healing soundscapes, Michael's music is a compelling combination weaving the subtleties of spirit with the realities and beauty of this physical world. His music is designed to take the avid listener on an entertaining, and inspiring healing, journey. Michael Moon's magnetism and charisma on stage, combined with a gift in dance and a theatrical image, create a striking and memorable visual performance. While some of his music has been described as a cross between Pink Floyd and Loreena Mckennitt, it goes beyond styles. At its core, the music creates a powerful and mystical atmosphere, evoking other worlds and shifting consciousness, while on the surface giving solid pop structures provocative lyrics and a captivating sound. This has been an ongoing process resulting in many performances, workshops, and 4 CD's in the realm of healing music. Michael's song 'Wake up the World' was a prizewinner in the 2003 Tipperary International Song of Peace songwriting competition. Michael Moon - Full Bio and QuotesAfter studying Landscape Architecture at the University of Toronto, Michael Moon left to pursue his deepening passion in healing, music, and the esoteric dimensions of sound. Michael has now been studying and exploring the use of sound and music as tools for transformation and healing for over 15 years. He has learned many different alternative healing techniques, including becoming a Reiki Master, studying sound healing with many different teachers, exploring holistic Psychotherapy, including the use of music in holotropic breathwork, plus many other varied healing techniques including Astrology. Over the past 5 years this process has resulted in many performances and 4 CD's, two of which are internationally distributed. Michael has performed at many of the big holistic health and new age shows across North America. He has done live music for workshops and church services as well as in bars and folk clubs. He has held his own workshops on the Healing Power of Sound, Tantra, and Shamanism, and works one on one as a Sound Healer. He also runs a recording studio, specializing in projects of a healing, esoteric or transformational nature. Michael is now expressing the mystical, healing and transformational properties of sound in the realm of original popular-music as well as meditative soundscapes. His unique, 'entheogenic'* sound melds song structures with ambient, psycho-acoustic textures designed to bring the listener into a state of deep awareness and inner healing. All aspects of composing, performing and recording are infused with energy medicine. Researched techniques are also utilized in order to create 'brain entrainment' and assist the shift into alpha and theta brainwave states, which are associated with deep meditation and healing. The music is designed to assist the body in rediscovering its natural state of harmony, creating the ideal environment for healing to occur. |
